Lake St Clair Musky Fishing
The Lake St Clair Musky School will be conducting weekend classes and seminars on
casting for Lake St Clair’s Musky. The course is intended to offer full instruction that will
help anyone from beginner to expert catch more musky. The classes are packed full of
valuable information but will be very informal, and are limited to only 8 students to offer a
more personal setting. The price of each class includes – all instruction, class materials,
gourmet meals, and lodging at Hemlock Hills. Anyone that attends the school will get a 10%
discount on a guided trip with instructors Bob Brunner or Steve Kunnath.

Some of the many subjects that will be covered during the school:
•        All the latest information
•        Locations – were to fish and how to locate prime spots covering the entire lake
•        Gear – rods,reels,leaders,line,
•        Rod use and lure manipulation
•        Weather conditions
•        Boat handling
•        Landing musky and how to properly release them
•        Question and answer discussion periods
•        And during breaks and in evenings Steve Kunnath will be giving fly casting
seminars and instruction to anyone interested.

Friday – Check in anytime after 6pm. Relax inside by the fireplace and satellite TV or
join your instructors Steve and Bob by the camp fire discussing anything MUSKY!

Saturday – Awake at 8am to a gourmet breakfast . Classroom instruction begins at
9am. Break for lunch at 12pm. Back to the classroom from 1pm to 5pm. Dinner is served
at 6pm. You are free to spend the evening walking the many trails through Hemlock Hills
69 acres of private fields and forest. Or head down to the Au Sable River for some trout
fishing. You can also bring a boat and enjoy some bass, pike, and musky fishing lakes
nearby. The musky camp fire will be lit again that evening.

Sunday – Awake for breakfast at 8am. Classroom instruction will be from 9-12:30pm.
Check out after class has ended and start catching some musky!
Instructors

Muskie Bob Brunner -  Bob has 78 years of musky fishing experience on Lake St Clair.
He is one of the leading authorities on musky fishing in North America. He has written
15 books and has been inducted into the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame as a
legendary musky guide.

Captain Steve Kunnath – Steve has been fishing Lake St Clair most of his life and is a
full time musky casting and fly fishing guide on Lake St Clair. He is also member of the
Michigan Outdoor Writers Association and contributes articles on musky fishing, fly
fishing and hunting in Michigan.
The musky school is held at Hemlock Hills 10 minutes outside of Mio Michigan. It is a 2
hour 45 minute drive from the Detroit area.

To book your class
The price for the musky school is
only $295.00 per person. And remember that
includes all instruction, meals, and lodging at Hemlock Hills. A  $150 deposit is needed
to book your reservation. The full balance is due a week before the school date. The
school is limited to only 8 students so reserve your spot now as available spaces are
filling quickly.
